The Framingham philosophy is simple - they make wines that they want to drink. They do this by employing what they call a low impact approach to vineyard management with a lot of hard work and a strong environmental ethic. This is philosophy is mirrored in the cellar with a non-interventionist approach that relies on guidance rather than manipulation. While everyone else seems to be obsessed with making dry Riesling, Framingham have embraced the off dry style with just enough residual sugar per litre to lift the aromatic fruit and balance the crisp acidity creating a wine that truly sings on the palate. This is a rich, ripe and clean expression of the grape with lovely, earthy mineral tones and lots of lovely citrus and apple character accompanied by hints of that classic graphite character that is so associated with Riesling.
