Rose de Noirs 2013, Ridgeview, Ditchling, Sussex

Sold out.

In one hundred years when English sparkling wine has the sort of heritage that Champagne can boast of, then Ridgeview, alongside a handful of others, will be known as one of its ‘Grand Marques’. This beautiful English Rose (see what I did there) is made solely from the red grape varieties of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. It has a delicate salmon pink colour with an abundance of bubbles and a beautifully creamy mousse. There are flavours of red berries with hints of honey and toast and a wonderful satisfying fullness and length. In short, think strawberries and cream, which funnily enough would make a great food pairing.
