Blanc des Blancs 2013, Court Garden, Ditchling, Sussex, England

On a south facing hill near the picturesque village of Ditchling and with the South Downs for a back drop it would be difficult to find a more beautiful spot for a vineyard in England. The wines from Court Garden are known for their structure, elegance and balance and although they are unmistakeably mineral they are also imbued with a subtle richness that can be hard to come by in this country. The Blanc des Blancs exhibits ripe peach and apple fruits with smoky, toasty autolytic character and a fine, delicate mousse. It is fresh and crisp with excellent concentration and length and a lovely, savoury finish.
