The landscape of Savoie is distinctly Alpine with the vineyards of the region clinging precariously to the hillsides between lake and mountain. The wines are Alpine too expressing great minerality and freshness often married to real concentration of flavour. This Rousette (an indigenous variety also called Altesse) is a prime example of what you can achieve with long sunny days and cool, crisp nights. It has intense flavours of pear, gingerbread, spice and honey with a touch of nougat and real texture due to some time on the lees and skins. This is a soft, mellow, off dry wine that will stoke the senses and get the pulse racing.
