ValdeCastrillo 2016, Alfredo Maestro, Ribera del Duero, Spain (B,V)

rich, blackberry coulis, spice
Alfredo Maestro has been making wines since 1998 in the Ribera del Duero area of Spain He works with parcels of old vines growing at altitude, which produce wines of great finesse and concentration. His vineyards are all organic. This particular wine is 100% Tempranillo, aged in French oak for 1 year. This oak use has smoothed the tannin, and integrated the fruit flavours to perfection. It exudes flavours of ripe red friuits with a long peppery finish. Yum!
