Alsace Blanc 2016, Achillee, Alsace, France

floral, lime, apricot, peach

Certified organic and biodynamic and made by a family who have farmed in this area of Alsace for more than 400 years, Achill̩e Blanc is a blend of Sylvaner, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Auxerrois, Muscat and Chasselas. This wine is beautifully aromatic, nosing it you'll uncover wildflowers, blossom, apricots, greengages, peaches, lemons and limes, then more of the same on the bone-dry palate. It makes for a beautiful aperitif, or can be enjoyed with all manner of fish dishes, spring vegetables, cheeses, quiche, tarte flamb̩e and sauerkraut. However, because it's so deeply complex, it's a wonderful wine to just sip on its own.
